Job Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively
- ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically
- ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle safely following all applicable laws, regulations, and policies
- duties are usually performed seated
- limited physical effort with occasional walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects under 25 lbs
- work in a normal office environment with minimal physical discomfort
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in business administration or related field
- completed certification in office management or administrative assistant
- two years of progressively responsible experience working in secretarial, receptionist, and bank deposit preparation duties
- ability to organize documents alphabetically and numerically
- excellent communication skills in English
- valid state driver’s license
Job Duties
- Answer the telephone in a courteous manner and direct calls to the appropriate destination
- record accurate and complete messages when necessary
- receive and receipt deliveries and donations
- greet and announce visitors and clients
- provide general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services
- perform routine administrative work such as preparing letters, memos, and filing
- prepare checks for deposits
- prepare employment paperwork
- record and update statistical information
- sort and distribute mail
- forward Corps bills to the finance department weekly
- assist with bulk-mail preparation
- distribute packages, office supplies, and deliveries
- assist Corps officers with typing, scheduling appointments, screening calls, and other assignments
- respond to callers' questions and provide accurate information
- review employment documents for accuracy and forward to HR
- copy and cover received donation checks
- make daily bank deposits
- attach bank deposit slips and forward to finance department
- perform other duties as assigned
