Job Requirements
- Physical stamina and strength to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 70 pounds regularly
- ability to be alert to moving vehicles and aircraft
- communicate using radio equipment
- work in noisy warehouse and aircraft environments
- proficient English verbal and written communication skills
- intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
- basic math skills for payment transaction calculations
- strong problem-solving abilities
- effective time management and multitasking skills
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- have authorization to work in the United States or Canada as applicable
- complete ramp and SIDA training for airport security identification
- be able to secure a Customs Seal if required
- preferred: one or more years of cargo agent experience
Job Duties
- Convey shipping instructions to the customer services counter
- retrieve import documents and deliver export documents to and from aircraft
- accept cargo in accordance with applicable TSA, FAA, government and air carrier rules and regulations
- accept dangerous goods according to FAA and IATA regulations
- release imported international freight after CBP clearance review
- collect air freight charges
- handle phone calls from customers in a professional and courteous manner
- report documentation discrepancies to Office Lead and assist with issue resolution
- complete paperwork and data entry related to cargo and freight transfers
- follow company safety procedures
- complete required training
- work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
