Job Requirements
- minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment with detailed and precise tasks
- ability to work with customers and attend to their needs
- physical capability to lift 50 lbs (bakery) or 55 lbs (deli) and manage heavier weights safely with assistance
- ability to perform department-specific physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, twisting, pushing, pulling, pinching, and using fine motor skills
- compliance with H-E-B’s food safety and sanitation standards and store operating procedures
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine

Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
