Job Requirements

  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on first day of employment
  • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Two years of COTA experience
  • Certification by NBCOT or eligibility to apply and license within one month of hire
  • Licensed by Arkansas State Medical Board as Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • Compliance with Arkansas state and federal laws and agency policies
  • Availability to work PRN schedule in Northwest Arkansas
  • Ability to perform constant physical activity such as hearing, lifting, manipulating items, reaching, sitting, and standing
  • Ability to perform frequent talking and occasional physical activity like crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, and stooping
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening including criminal background, drug testing, and education verification

Job Qualifications

  • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Two years of COTA experience
  • Certified by NBCOT or eligible to obtain certification within one month of hire
  • Licensed by Arkansas State Medical Board as Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • Strong background in treatment of neurologic disorders
  • Ability to provide compassionate and effective care for geriatric patients
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative multidisciplinary work
  • Familiarity with Arkansas State Board regulations and agency policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation
  • Ability to adapt treatment plans
  • Preferred: Four years of COTA experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Marshallese
  • LSVT BIG certification

Job Duties

  • Provide fine motor assessment and treatment using evidence-based techniques
  • Implement direct therapy for patients in areas such as fine motor skills, visual perceptual motor skills, sensory processing, self-help skills, upper extremity strength, range of motion, muscle tone, balance, and trunk stability under supervision of the occupational therapist
  • Collaborate with therapy professionals and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Monitor patient progress and recommend modifications to treatment plans as needed
  • Document services provided timely and accurately
  • Verify accuracy of documentation through review of progress notes and patient prescription requirements
  • Provide treatment at PACE of the Ozarks day center
  • Document daily treatments and prepare monthly patient performance summaries
  • Conduct VA home treatments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
