Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of surgical technology program
- BLS certification
- Ability to follow sterile techniques and safety protocols
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to assist in patient positioning and transportation
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Previous surgical tech experience is preferred

Job Duties
- Prepares operating room, labor and delivery suites, and tables with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment necessary for each individual surgical and delivery procedure
- Assists in preparation and draping of patient
- Passes instruments, sutures, sponges, supplies, and equipment needed for the operative and delivery procedures
- Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed and maintains correct count
- Performs appropriate counts with labor nurse prior to and after vaginal deliveries and maintains correct count
- Properly cares for specimens
- Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization by initiating cleaning at point of use
- Cleans, stocks, inventories and restocks supplies and medications as required
- Assists with patient positioning
- Follows procedures for scrubbing, gowning, gloving, draping, and applying dressing
- Demonstrates close attention to details of aseptic technique at all times
- Reports breaks in sterile techniques
- Cleans and prepares C-section suite between procedures and after terminal cleaning
- Assist in transportation of patient under the direction of an RN
- Assists in cleaning, maintenance, and function of operating room equipment
