Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Three years of coordinator experience preferred
- Proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Slack, and Zoom
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work irregular hours
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Criminal background check
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Physical ability to maneuver clients safely in emergencies
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs frequently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, or three years of coordinator experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Slack, and Zoom
- Proficiency in data analysis and event coordination
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form across multiple platforms
- General knowledge of homelessness and related challenges
- Ability to work with participants with diverse needs and functioning levels
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- CPR and First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to meet insurance carrier guidelines
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check
- Strong computer proficiency
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Skilled in crisis de-escalation and emergency assistance
Job Duties
- Develop, coordinate, and sometimes lead person-centered activities focusing on creative arts, recreation, life skills, wellness sessions, and personal finance
- Monitor and assess participant engagement and track activity performance through data gathering
- Act as point of contact for the campus with outside organizations, volunteers, and Washoe County campus staff
- Perform initial needs and interest surveys to tailor activities
- Coordinate monthly activities and event calendars in conjunction with other coordinators
- Participate in monthly Participant Advisory Board meetings
- Provide oversight of event and activity spaces through direct supervision
- Maintain inventory of event and activity supplies and provide monthly reports
- Enter participant activity information into HMIS and track through various systems such as Microsoft Excel
- Coordinate special events such as holidays and sports
- Maintain professional and personable demeanor demonstrating agency core values
- Answer client questions clearly and thoroughly
- Make recommendations for quality improvement to campus leadership
- Assist with staff training, department orientation, and development
- Support Shelter Supervisors with coverage when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
