Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Valid Nevada driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle
- Ability to meet insurance carrier guidelines
- Criminal background check
- Ability to work irregular hours
- CPR and First Aid certification within ninety days
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to safely maneuver client weight in emergencies
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Computer proficiency
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to de-escalate crisis situations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred
- Minimum three years of coordinator experience preferred
- Proficiency with digital tools including Microsoft Office, Slack, and Zoom
- Experience with data analysis and event coordination
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to de-escalate crisis situations
- Knowledge of issues related to homelessness
- Ability to work flexible hours and in small to mid-size teams
- CPR and First Aid certification required within ninety days of employment
Job Duties
- Develop, coordinate, and sometimes lead person-centered activities focusing on creative arts, recreation, life skills, wellness sessions, and personal finance
- Monitor and assess participant engagement and track activity performance
- Act as the point of contact for the campus with outside organizations, volunteers and Washoe County campus staff
- Perform initial needs and interest surveys to tailor activities to participant interests
- Coordinate monthly activities and event calendar with other Activity Coordinators
- Participate in monthly Participant Advisory Board meetings
- Provide accurate information on activities through data gathering and tracking systems
- Enter participant activity information into HMIS
- Coordinate special events such as holidays and sports
- Provide oversight of event and activity spaces
- Maintain inventory of event and activity supplies
- Maintain professional and personable demeanor reflecting agency core values
- Answer client questions clearly and thoroughly
- Maintain activity and event information in collaboration platforms such as Slack and Teams
- Make recommendations for quality improvement to the campus Director and Assistant Director
- Support Shelter Supervisors with coverage when necessary
- Assist in staff training and development including orientation and ongoing education
- Maintain knowledge of campus operations and safety standards
- Pursue continual self-development and remain aware of new trends
- Attend staff meetings and complete required certifications
- Perform other duties as assigned
