Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Experience working with digital tools
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to analyze data and organize events
- Skilled in crisis de-escalation and emergency assistance
- Ability to work flexible hours
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
- Valid Nevada driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle
- Must pass criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred
- Three years or more coordinator experience preferred
- Proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Slack, Zoom
- Data analysis and event coordination experience
- Ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written information across multiple platforms
- Knowledge of homelessness issues and challenges
- Ability to utilize a range of interventions for participants with varying needs
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check
Job Duties
- Develop, coordinate, and sometimes lead person-centered activities focusing on creative arts, recreation, life skills, wellness sessions, and personal finance
- Monitor and assess participant engagement and track activity performance through data gathering
- Act as point of contact for campus with outside organizations, volunteers, and Washoe County campus staff
- Conduct initial needs and interest surveys to tailor activities and events to participant interests
- Coordinate monthly activities and event calendar with other Activity Coordinators
- Participate in monthly Participant Advisory Board meetings
- Provide accurate information on activities through various data tracking systems
- Enter participant activity information into HMIS
- Coordinate special events such as holidays and sports
- Provide oversight of event and activity spaces through direct supervision
- Maintain inventory of event and activity supplies and provide monthly reports
- Maintain professional demeanor and demonstrate agency core values
- Answer client questions clearly and thoroughly
- Maintain activity and event information in collaboration platforms like Slack or Teams
- Make recommendations for quality improvements to campus Director and Assistant Director
- Provide support for Shelter Supervisors with coverage when necessary
- Assist in staff training and development, including department orientation and training of new employees
- Help develop training modules for campus staff
- Maintain knowledge of campus operations and safety standards
- Foster professional relationships with peers and leadership
- Engage in continuous self-development and stay informed on new trends
- Learn and enhance technical and interpersonal skills
- Attend staff meetings, assigned training, and complete required certifications such as CPR and First Aid
- Perform other duties as assigned
