Job Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
- Successful completion of an internship approved by the ADA is preferred
- Three years of experience as a nutritionist, dietitian, or related field
- Master's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition may substitute for two years of experience
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license
- Willingness to work some evenings and Saturdays
- Compliance with City of Houston's driving policy
- Ability to work at multiple WIC sites in Houston
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical examination
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
- Successful completion of an ADA approved internship preferred
- Three years of experience as a nutritionist, dietitian, or closely related field
- Master's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition may substitute for two years of experience
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience in community health programs preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local nutrition policies
- Ability to develop and implement educational materials and training
Job Duties
- Supervises daily activities of staff, including work assignments, employee counseling, performance evaluation, employee development and training
- Ensures appropriate management of returned formula, breast pumps and supplies, and educational material inventory according to policy
- Assesses program eligibility, nutritional need, and assigns appropriate food package in accordance with federal, state, and local policies and procedures
- Evaluates, develops, and selects all nutritional health care audiovisuals, literature and other materials
- Prepares, implements, and coordinates annual nutrition education plan
- Provides orientation and training for new employees
- plans and coordinates staff in-service training and educational sessions
- Assigns, advises, and counsels staff nutritionists
- Serves as a community liaison on health and nutrition services related issues
- Monitors quality assurance standards and analyzes data
