Job Requirements
- Full-time employment
- Degree or certification in nutrition or a related field
- Maintenance of continuing education requirements
- Ability to lift or carry up to 10 lbs constantly, 11-20 lbs frequently, 21-50 lbs occasionally, and 51-100 lbs occasionally with a team lift
- Ability to push or pull up to 15 lbs frequently and 16-100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, sit, squat, kneel, and climb as required
- Capability to use a computer for data entry and mouse use
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions including noise, dust, fumes, temperature changes, and contact stress
Job Qualifications
- Degree or certification in nutrition or related field such as dietetics, biology, biochemistry, or naturopathy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Ability to confidently engage audiences during cooking demonstrations and education classes
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-directed with effective time management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and accept feedback
- Motivated to develop nutrition knowledge and skills
- Comfortable performing retail operations in a fast-paced setting
- Friendly, outgoing, and approachable demeanor
- Commitment to maintaining continuing education requirements related to nutrition knowledge
Job Duties
- Act as the nutrition education resource for customers, crew, and the community
- Provide customer service in the vitamin aisles, assisting with product purchases and education
- Maintain customer literature files, book department, stock and face products, assist with cleaning and merchandising
- Conduct in-store nutrition and recipe demonstration classes, outreach classes, and crew training
- Provide private one-on-one health coaching sessions
- Build community relationships with practitioner partners and event collaborators
- Assist with coordinating companywide events and print educational materials
