Job Requirements
- An accredited degree or certification in nutrition or related field
- Continuing education to maintain certification or a minimum of 16 continuing education hours per year if not required by certification
- Experience in public speaking and nutrition education
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs with occasional team lifts for heavier items
- Proficiency in computer use for data entry and communication
- Must be able to work full-time
- Comfortable working in a retail environment
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods
- Willingness to participate in store operations and team activities
- Motivated to support company mission and culture
Job Qualifications
- Degree or certification in nutrition or a related field such as dietetics, biology, biochemistry, or naturopathy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Confidence in providing cooking demonstrations and nutrition education classes
- Ability to engage customers and promote events, services, and sales
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-directed with effective time management
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and accept feedback
- Motivated to grow knowledge and skills
- Comfortable performing retail operations including stocking, facing, checking expiration dates, and cleaning
- Friendly, outgoing, and approachable personality
- Committed to maintaining nutrition knowledge through continuing education
Job Duties
- Acts as the nutrition education resource for the customers, Crew, and community
- Provides customer service on the floor in the vitamin aisles assisting customers and providing education
- Performs retail operations including maintaining customer literature files, stocking and facing products, cleaning the vitamin department, and assisting with merchandising
- Provides nutrition education by offering in-store nutrition and recipe classes, outreach classes, regular trainings to Crew, maintaining the Crew wellness board, and motivating participation
- Provides private one-on-one health coaching sessions
- Works to build community relationships with practitioner partners, guest presenters, and event partners
- Seeks outreach opportunities to provide nutrition education and build brand awareness
- Maintains continuing education requirements by reading research and completing assignments
- Assists management with coordinating and executing company-wide events
- Responsible for printing materials and placing orders for nutrition education supplies
- Provides training to Crew on promoting services, in-store events, and promotions
- Attends monthly meetings and acts as an event ambassador for in-store guest presenter classes
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support store and company operations
