Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in large quantity cooking and baking
- ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- current food handler’s certification (preferred)
- ability to work a part-time schedule Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- ability to work indoors in hot and cold kitchen environments
- willingness to wear protective equipment such as gloves and hairnet
Job Qualifications
- Skill to cook and bake in large quantities
- skill to operate food preparation equipment
- knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
- ability to provide training and work direction
- basic math skills
- ability to operate a cash register
- effective communication skills
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to establish positive working relationships
Job Duties
- Leads and participates in the preparation, cooking and baking of meat, vegetable dishes and baked goods
- participates in serving and selling of food
- provides training and work direction to assigned personnel
- maintains food service facilities and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition
- performs basic cashiering duties including operating a POS system
- monitors and records food temperatures
- prepares food for students with allergies or special diets
- inventories and requisitions foodstuffs and supplies
