Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Food Safety Manager certificate approved by ANSI
  • valid California Class C driver’s license
  • use of a personal automobile
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • standing for extended periods
  • ability to maintain certification throughout employment
  • ability to work in kitchen environment with exposure to heat and cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Food Safety Manager certificate approved by ANSI
  • experience in food preparation and kitchen supervision
  • ability to train and evaluate staff effectively
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • proficiency with computerized point of sale systems
  • ability to manage inventory and order supplies
  • strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize and participate in the preparation and serving of hot and cold menu items
  • maintain kitchen and serving areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition
  • order, receive and store food and supplies
  • train and evaluate the performance of assigned staff
  • assure compliance with sanitation and safety procedures and regulations
  • operate computerized point of sale system and perform cashiering duties
  • communicate with administrators, personnel, parents and vendors to coordinate activities and resolve issues
