Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of food service experience
- criminal background check required for hire
- ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
- ability to work in environments with extreme heat, mechanical parts, chemicals, and varied weather conditions
- ability to follow safety rules
- supervisory skills

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in food service
- experience with school nutrition programs preferred

- knowledge of nutrition services
- familiarity with child nutrition and health department guidelines preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare food according to planned menus and recipes
- complete daily records, deposits, and money journals
- determine daily food quantities
- communicate with kitchen employees, staff, students, and community
- supervise and instruct kitchen personnel in safe and proper food preparation
- supervise use of kitchen equipment
- order supplies in compliance with schedule
- verify food shipments and sign off on invoices
- check equipment for safety and report repairs
- maintain employee time records and monthly inventory
- assist with catering events
- attend staff development and manager meetings
- instruct new employees
- evaluate kitchen employee performance
- perform other duties as assigned
