Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • valid Kansas driver’s license
  • ability to work all scheduled hours unless approved leave is granted
  • ability to report to work dressed appropriately reflecting positive image of USD 259
  • willingness to work overtime on short notice
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • physical ability to perform various physical tasks including lifting, climbing, walking, and keyboard use

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Deliver perishable and non-perishable food products, groceries, and supplies on assigned routes in accordance with HACCP guidelines
  • Assist managers in putting up food products as needed
  • Deliver catering and box lunch specials and other equipment and supplies as assigned
  • Pick up hot and cold transport carriers and unload them in the Food Production Center
  • Line up carriers according to assigned routes for next day delivery
  • Observe laws governing operation of commercial motor vehicles and perform deliveries safely according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Process all delivery forms and records timely and accurately
  • Recommend delivery improvements to the Supervisor
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks including checking oil, tires, lifts, and keeping vehicles clean
  • Report equipment malfunctions
  • Perform assigned services and duties on food delivery routes
  • Deliver hot shots/call backs or perform designated tasks during layover
  • Perform duties in other nutrition service areas including pulling stock, loading/unloading trucks, food routes, and janitorial work
  • Serve as a member of the Food Drivers Team
  • Prepare, assemble, and serve food for Summer Nutrition Program as needed
  • Pull warehouse orders according to pick tickets using FIFO methods and palletize for delivery
  • Pick up returns from secondary schools and process with warehouse technician
