Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- sufficient training and experience to demonstrate knowledge and abilities related to food preparation and service
- valid San Diego County Food Handler's Card
- ability to work part-time approximately 2 to 3 hours per day, five days per week during the school year
- ability to pass a competitive selection process including written and performance exams
- willingness to comply with health and safety standards
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to operate computers and POS terminals
- ability to maintain sanitary food service environment
- basic mathematical skills
- ability to lift and move equipment and supplies safely
Job Qualifications

- ability to prepare and serve hot and cold food items
- experience working in food service environment preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve hot and cold food items according to guidelines
- assemble ingredients
- heat, package, and wrap food items
- set up food service area and stock supplies
- distribute meals to students and staff
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service facilities and equipment
- perform cashiering duties including cash handling and POS operation
- prepare a variety of food items such as entrees, sandwiches, and snacks
- observe food quality, quantity, and temperature standards
- assist with receiving and storing food deliveries
- operate standard food service equipment safely
- maintain records related to food items and meal counts
- communicate effectively with students and staff
