Job Duties

  • Assists others in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverage items
  • cleans utensils, equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas
  • contacts parents or guardians regarding payments to resolve student negative account balances
  • cooks food prepared and/or from scratch to meet nutritional and meal requirements
  • estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes to minimize waste
  • evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature
  • inspects food items to verify quantity, quality and specifications of orders
  • inventories food, condiments, supplies and equipment
  • maintains kitchen and food prep areas in sanitary condition
  • monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure safety and sanitation
  • oversees assigned site operations in manager's absence
  • participates in unit meetings and training
  • prepares documentation such as inventory and supply lists
  • reports equipment malfunctions
  • performs other related duties as assigned
