Job Duties
- Assists others in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverage items
- cleans utensils, equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas
- contacts parents or guardians regarding payments to resolve student negative account balances
- cooks food prepared and/or from scratch to meet nutritional and meal requirements
- estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes to minimize waste
- evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature
- inspects food items to verify quantity, quality and specifications of orders
- inventories food, condiments, supplies and equipment
- maintains kitchen and food prep areas in sanitary condition
- monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure safety and sanitation
- oversees assigned site operations in manager's absence
- participates in unit meetings and training
- prepares documentation such as inventory and supply lists
- reports equipment malfunctions
- performs other related duties as assigned
