Job Requirements

  • baccalaureate degree in nutrition or health-related field
  • working knowledge of Colorado EPSDT/Medicaid guidelines and community nutrition resources
  • administrative ability to organize and coordinate nutrition services
  • knowledge of USDA/CACFP requirements, administration and reporting
  • experience working with low-income and culturally diverse children and families
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • ability to generate and interpret reports
  • experience with comprehensive record keeping systems
  • proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe
  • ability to understand program context and compliance

Job Qualifications

  • administrative skills in coordinating nutrition services

  • proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe, and web-based systems
  • experience in comprehensive record keeping
  • preferred 1-2 years community health experience
  • training or coursework in early childhood nutrition and special needs
  • knowledge of early childhood development and Head Start regulations
  • bilingual Spanish/English

Job Duties

  • plan and coordinate nutrition content area activities for ECD programs
  • ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Colorado regulations
  • develop and implement nutrition training for staff, providers, parents, and volunteers
  • supervise children actively by sight and sound in all environments
  • maintain health and safety standards to create optimal learning conditions
  • facilitate health practices to keep children safe indoors and outdoors
  • manage record keeping and reporting related to nutrition services
