Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • availability to cover rotating holiday and weekend shifts
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • capacity to lift, transport, and push equipment of various weights
  • ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • manual dexterity to handle food preparation and equipment cleaning tasks
  • ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work
  • one year of experience in customer service, food and beverage service or patient service preferred
  • demonstrated ability to work with modified diets preferred
  • demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service preferred

Job Duties

  • Collects cookware and dishes from within department as necessary
  • cleans and sanitizes cookware, dishes, patient trays, and distributes them appropriately
  • delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process
  • performs food and beverage preparation functions according to system standards including preparing salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit
  • follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services including dining experience, meal delivery, and maintaining required stock levels
  • performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment such as ovens, fryers, and hoods
  • performs accurate cash and credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolves basic customer service issues
