Job Requirements

  • one year experience preferred in acute hospital or long term care setting within last two years
  • pass orientation and initial competency assessment
  • complete and pass all annual competencies
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
  • detail oriented and organized
  • ability to work in busy demanding environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field preferred
  • certified nursing assistant course or relevant work experience required
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • strong computer skills
  • ability to multi-task
  • exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills
  • critical thinking skills
  • cardiac monitoring skills preferred

Job Duties

  • take vital signs
  • assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures for assigned patients
  • perform clerical and receptionist duties related to the department
  • monitor cardiac rhythms, rates, and alarms on all patients
  • communicate findings to nursing and medical staff
  • demonstrate positive attitude and customer service excellence
  • perform duties according to CHOMP policies and under RN supervision
