Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited nurse aide training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum
- Ability to work harmoniously with staff, patients, and visitors
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association
- Physical ability to lift, move, and position patients regularly
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP
- Must be available for up to three weekends a month
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved nurse aide training program
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability to work harmoniously with staff, patients, and visitors
- Preferably at least 1 year of experience as a Nursing Assistant in Premature Nursery (NICU)
- Enrollment in or completion of BSN program with at least one clinical practicum
Job Duties
- Provide compassionate patient care under supervision of registered nurses
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in the Premature Nursery
- Assist in lifting, moving, and positioning patients safely
- Serve as a critical point of contact for patients and families
- Support daily unit operations to help the unit run smoothly
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration with nursing staff
- Infuse energy and hospitality into patient care
