Job Requirements
- master’s degree in nursing
- completion of a nurse anesthesia graduate program
- certification as a certified registered nurse anesthetist by the national board of certification and recertification for nurse anesthetists
- valid current or temporary alaska registered nurse license
Job Qualifications
- master’s degree in nursing
- completion of a graduate program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs
- certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- valid current or temporary Alaska registered nurse license
- preferred doctorate degree
- preferred experience working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a crna
- preferred additional related education and/or experience
Job Duties
- anesthetize patients safely and effectively for a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, orthopedics, ob/gyn, ent, podiatry, pediatrics, and gastrointestinal procedures
- collaborate with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement anesthesia care plans
- monitor patients responses during anesthesia and adjust treatments as necessary
- manage out-of-operating room anesthesia cases such as ob or gi procedures
- maintain patient safety by adhering to all protocols and standards in anesthesia care
- participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain certification and clinical skills
- ensure equipment and supplies used in anesthesia delivery are properly maintained and prepared
