Job Requirements

  • master’s degree in nursing
  • completion of a nurse anesthesia graduate program
  • certification as a certified registered nurse anesthetist by the national board of certification and recertification for nurse anesthetists
  • valid current or temporary alaska registered nurse license

Job Qualifications

  • master’s degree in nursing
  • completion of a graduate program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs
  • certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
  • valid current or temporary Alaska registered nurse license
  • preferred doctorate degree
  • preferred experience working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a crna
  • preferred additional related education and/or experience

Job Duties

  • anesthetize patients safely and effectively for a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, orthopedics, ob/gyn, ent, podiatry, pediatrics, and gastrointestinal procedures
  • collaborate with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement anesthesia care plans
  • monitor patients responses during anesthesia and adjust treatments as necessary
  • manage out-of-operating room anesthesia cases such as ob or gi procedures
  • maintain patient safety by adhering to all protocols and standards in anesthesia care
  • participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain certification and clinical skills
  • ensure equipment and supplies used in anesthesia delivery are properly maintained and prepared
