Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years experience in large volume food service
- Preferred two years experience as Assistant Kitchen Manager
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Successful completion of criminal background check
- Ability to complete pre-hire physical examination
- Valid Colorado driver's license or ability to travel among district facilities
- Must obtain and maintain department approved food safety training within six months of hire
- Meet minimum professional standards and training for school nutrition professionals
- Completion of district training courses Progressive Discipline and Classified Evaluation System within one year of hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years experience in a large volume food service operation
- More than two years as an Assistant Kitchen Manager preferred
- Nutrition Services or other food service management training preferred
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition programs and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills
- Ability to manage budgets and financial records
- Knowledge of Health Department regulations and food safety standards
Job Duties
- Schedule, supervise, monitor and assist assigned personnel with cashiering, cleanup and timely and accurate food preparation and serving
- Give and document performance feedback and complete performance evaluations
- Monitor and assure compliance with Health Department standards and department policies
- Prepare menu worksheets and ensure accurate daily completion
- Maintain reasonable inventory through accurate ordering, receiving, storage, and rotation of stock
- Accurately maintain and review kitchen budgets and financial records including deposits and profit and loss reports
- Deliver and document orientation and on-the-job training for kitchen personnel
- Coordinate and resolve issues with school principals, staff, parents, and Nutrition Services central office
- Contact parents regarding negative balances
- Assist with Free and Reduced lunch application process
- Assure confidentiality of private information
- Follow special dietary needs procedure and adhere to special diets
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
