Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and persons with disabilities
- Ability to use range of interventions with varying client needs
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Tact, discretion, and resourcefulness
- Computer skills
- CPR and First Aid training within 90 days
- TB testing annually
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Physically maneuver clients in emergencies
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit frequently
- Kneel occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs regularly
- Valid California driver’s license preferred
- Criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Knowledge of issues related to homelessness, substance abuse, and disabilities
- Experience with housing first approach, addiction recovery, and dysfunctional family dynamics preferred
- Ability to use a range of interventions for clients with varying needs
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Tact, discretion, and resourcefulness
- Computer skills
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
Job Duties
- Perform daily work requirements to achieve program objectives
- Engage with clients using trauma-informed, strength-based, compassionate, and professional approaches
- Explain program requirements and assure client compliance
- Coordinate meal preparation, service, and room assignments
- Provide awake shift coverage and maintain safety and security
- Offer emergency assistance to clients and coworkers
- Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing common areas
- Address behavioral issues and de-escalate crises
- Document and report client concerns, incidents, and program exceptions
- Maintain daily reports, shift logs, and observation logs
- Assist in training and orienting new staff
- Support program development and quality operations
- Attend staff meetings and complete required training and certifications
