Job Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • Must obtain food handling certification as applicable
  • Must obtain NHG housekeeping certification within six months of employment
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and scrubbing
  • Willingness to work full-time (35 plus hours)
  • Ability to maintain guest privacy and security
  • Must be able to handle occasional emergency duties during inclement weather and other situations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months housekeeping experience preferred
  • Leadership or training experience preferred
  • Ability to train and demonstrate proper cleaning techniques
  • Knowledge of safety and health protocols including blood-borne pathogens
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee and communicate instructions from supervisors to housekeeping attendants
  • Assist in training new associates and answer questions on policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to work schedules and report work status to supervisors
  • Train staff on proper cleaning methods and procedures
  • Maintain records of housekeeping work including room numbers and guest stays
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry areas
  • Maintain security of guest privacy and storeroom items
  • Manage inventory and place orders for cleaning supplies and linens
  • Use hand and powered equipment to perform cleaning tasks
  • Handle guest and staff complaints tactfully and diplomatically
  • Assist with setup, replenishment, and cleanup of the self-service breakfast bar
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health protocols including blood-borne pathogen precautions
  • Perform laundry operations and inspections
  • Maintain operations during emergencies and inclement weather as necessary
  • Obtain required certifications including food handling and NHG housekeeping certification within six months of employment
