Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 months relevant driving and route management experience
- age 21 years or older
- valid standard driver's license
- ability to obtain Medical Examiner Card
- proficiency in English to understand and respond to highway traffic signs and official inquiries
- compliance with federal, state, and local waste transport regulations
- ability to operate company vehicles equipped with telematics, electronic logging devices, and GPS
- ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6+ months experience preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management
- valid standard driver's license (Class D or above) with excellent driving record
- ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED)
- proficiency in reading and speaking English for traffic signs and official communications
Job Duties
- Manage assigned routes ensuring safe, timely, and accurate waste pickup
- pick up and transport waste safely per federal, state, and local regulations
- plan daily schedules based on customer needs reviewing daily paperwork
- follow routing software route schedules
- prepare and load trucks with necessary supplies
- unload trucks and secure waste at Stericycle and customer sites
- ensure customers package waste properly before pickup
- provide high-level customer service and communicate with supervisors
- secure waste, supplies, and equipment before vehicle operation
- complete assigned paperwork accurately and legibly
- complete DOT driver logs if applicable
- communicate route changes or issues to supervisors and dispatchers
- perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle maintenance inspections
- report maintenance problems promptly
- effectively use ELD and GPS devices for compliance
- perform other duties as needed
