Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 3 years of successful event fundraising experience
- proven ability to lead and motivate volunteers
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work with diverse populations
- willingness to travel 20-25 percent
- availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- proficiency in budget preparation and management
- experience with Microsoft Office and fundraising databases
- commitment to mission of Foundation Fighting Blindness
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years successful event fundraising experience including collaboration with volunteers
- proven ability to recruit, lead, and motivate volunteer groups or non-profit organization chapters
- exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities
- willingness to travel approximately 20-25 percent
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- highly organized and detail-oriented with capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- enthusiastic, proactive, and strong follow-up skills
- applied experience with budget preparation, management, and reporting
- familiarity with Microsoft Office and fundraising databases such as Salesforce, Virtuous, or Raiser’s Edge
- deep commitment to the Foundation Fighting Blindness mission
Job Duties
- Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to surpass previous year’s financial achievements
- strengthen ties with corporate sponsors, volunteer committee members, event attendees, and honorees to secure sponsorships and sustained support
- lead, engage in and contribute to event committee meetings to ensure successful coordination and implementation of events
- proactively seek and connect with potential contributors for various organizational initiatives and campaigns
- partner with internal VisionWalk and Special Event teams to plan and execute major events that meet or exceed fundraising goals
- establish and nurture community relationships representing the Foundation and uncover new support opportunities
- cultivate and expand volunteer chapters focused on fundraising, partnerships, and community education
- collaboratively craft a strategic plan outlining key milestones and success metrics with the Regional Director
- recruit, guide, and activate a dedicated team of volunteer leaders for chapter activities and events
- host engaging in-person and virtual chapter events to spread information and foster community ties
- engage and steward volunteers and donors prioritizing retention, recognition, and growth
- support peer initiatives and enhance donor involvement to meet fundraising goals
- utilize donor database for recording details, assessing engagement prospects, and generating reports
- tailor advice to leverage chapter strengths and overcome challenges
- manage storage and distribution of community materials and collateral
- gain understanding of relevant scientific concepts to effectively communicate the Foundation’s impact
