Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years’ box truck driving or commercial transportation experience
- DOT medical examiner’s certificate
- Defensive driver with Class D driver’s license
- Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely
- Ability to drive standard and automatic vehicles
- Comfortable driving in safe weather conditions
- Strong commitment to vehicle and road safety
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with donors and partners
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures
- Ability to work varied schedules
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to walk, sit, squat, bend, twist and reach for up to half of the work time
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy objects in confined spaces
- Ability to work inside freezers and coolers at temperatures from -10 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit
- Commitment to quality record keeping, customer service, and operational efficiency
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a box truck driver or other commercial transportation
- DOT medical examiner’s certificate
- Defensive driver with Class D driver's license
- Serv-Safe certification or commitment to obtain
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to perform food safety inspections through visual checks and temperature monitoring
- Understanding of personal responsibility to follow safety policies and report unsafe acts
- Experience driving box trucks, preferably in food-related environments
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment
- Comfortable driving in all weather conditions deemed safe
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work well with staff, donors, and agency representatives
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work diverse schedules
Job Duties
- Play a vital role in warehouse receiving and distribution
- Ensure proper handling of supporting documentation in compliance with internal control procedures
- Operate motorized forklift, pallet jacks and other equipment safely when trained
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the warehouse and facility grounds
- Manage time efficiently and multitask
- Complete and perform accurate follow-through on documentation for shipping, receiving, unloading, and warehousing of product
- Inspect, clean, and perform light maintenance on all vehicles and equipment and report problems to management
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle operations and maintenance daily
- Prepare the truck for the next day’s business including refueling and maintenance checks
- Complete and sign daily vehicle safety and maintenance checklist
- Work cooperatively with team members and provide coverage for other positions
- Load and offload company vehicles safely
- Maintain rapport with donors and partners to foster ongoing support
- Perform other assigned duties
