Job Requirements

  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state departments of transportation regulations
  • must pass DOT physical as trucks driven weigh over 10k lbs
  • must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • willing to work Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime pay after 40 hours
  • able to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • able to sit for prolonged periods in trailer cab
  • able to travel frequently
  • able to maintain grooming standards such as being clean shaven when required
  • must pass 10 panel drug screen
  • employment contingent on passing background check

Job Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers and staff
  • ability to remain focused in busy environments
  • valid driver's license
  • successful completion of background and drug testing as required by federal or state transportation regulations
  • completion of DOT physical examination
  • minimum age of 21 years to operate company vehicles

Job Duties

  • Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
  • transport loads safely and timely over required routes obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • deftly maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals
  • assist with or perform loading and unloading of goods using specialized equipment as warranted
  • maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and required paperwork
  • deliver documentation to shipping office or appropriate staff upon route completion
  • facilitate routine truck service such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air and report maintenance malfunctions to Shipping Supervisor
  • arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
  • perform other related duties as assigned
