Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Recruitment, hiring, training, and development of staff assigned
- Monitor the campus's physical plant to ensure safety, operational, and accessibility needs are met, including supervision of vendors that may provide such services to the College
- Coordinate and manage multi-craft activities involved in preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance, cleaning, repair, and renovation of college facilities, mechanical systems, physical plant, and/or grounds
- Monitor contracts for compliance and control costs
- perform quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards
- Oversee building and event schedules, serving as primary liaison with departments to ensure both internal and external operational needs are met
- Maintain compliance with College facilities and operations policy and procedures and advise the administration on the application of institutional policy, regulations, and standards relating to the management of physical resources
- Oversee and implement procedures related to the Fixed Assets Control System for the College
- Oversee and implement procedures related to the physical records retention process for the College
- Handle building emergencies and routine maintenance needs and serve as a liaison between College employees and students, and outside contractors or NMSU personnel
- Develop and manage building and equipment maintenance schedules
- Assist the Associate Vice President in the routine budgetary management, control, and internal reporting of budgeted Facilities funds
- Develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the Facilities division
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and review of building safety and emergency/disaster preparedness and recovery plans
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Assist in facility and space usage planning
- assist in the review of building, furniture, and equipment needs, and advise on budgetary planning for future needs in all assigned areas
- Develop and implement college policies, rules, regulations, and procedures in the areas of facility management
- Keep management abreast of current requirements and other developments in assigned areas
- Maintain statistical and other records and prepare reports for assigned areas
- Serve as the Deputy Chief Facilities, Safety, and Operations Officer in the absence of the Associate Vice President
