Job Requirements
- Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- must be able to pass a background clearance check
- must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver license
- may be required to perform minor maintenance repairs
- must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl and work overhead
- may be exposed to dangerous machinery, hazardous chemicals, extreme weather and pathogens
- must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- may be required to operate commercial cleaning and maintenance equipment
- may be required to work outside normal hours
- may be required to travel to perform work functions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- two years of relevant, progressively responsible custodial experience
- knowledge of custodial care principles
- knowledge of cleaning chemical preparation and usage
- knowledge of leadership and training principles
- knowledge of management and supervision principles
- skill in reading and applying statutes and policies
- skill in training employees in chemical use and cleaning equipment
- skill in cleaning and sanitizing areas
- skill in assigning and reviewing work
- skill in maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, students, parents and the public
Job Duties
- Performs and/or leads the work unit and may supervise entry level personnel
- coordinates, schedules, prioritizes and assigns tasks
- establishes priorities
- trains new custodial employees
- evaluates work performance and provides feedback
- cleans, dusts, mops, sanitizes and restocks restrooms and kitchen areas with supplies
- performs cleaning, dusting, mopping, window washing, floor waxing, vacuuming, trash removal and related functions
- picks up garbage and empties trash at dumpsters
- picks up crossing signs, flags and event signage
- sets up and breaks down tables and seating for activities and events
- cleans cafeteria, auditorium, restrooms, kitchen or gymnasium after events
- performs final security checks including doors and windows
- secures school facilities for the night
- performs minor maintenance repairs
- assists teachers and staff with moving equipment and supplies
- maintains inventory of cleaning supplies
- orders and restocks supplies and equipment
- performs other duties as assigned
