Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-6 months progressive work experience typically in building and grounds maintenance or 1-2 years progressive work experience typically in building and grounds in substitution
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate large complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment
  • Must be able to drive vehicles
  • Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, and bio-hazards
  • Pass background check
  • Availability to work full-time night shifts Monday through Friday

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-6 months of progressive work experience typically in building and grounds maintenance
  • Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of technical cleaning and maintenance
  • Knowledge of power and manual tools
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Ability to operate large cleaning equipment and move furniture
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Responsible for general cleaning including vacuuming floors and furniture
  • Emptying trash and recycling containers
  • Dusting, mopping, sanitizing, washing windows and mirrors
  • Cleaning and stocking restrooms, bathrooms, and offices
  • Learn where custodial supplies are kept and replenish supplies when needed
  • Observe and identify areas that need repair and submit information to the supervisor
  • Comply with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA
  • Operate and maintain equipment including hand and shop tools
  • Move furniture and set up conference rooms for meetings and events
  • Perform designated watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, check building systems for proper function, and update security logs
  • Perform chemical renovations
  • Monitor fire protection systems
