Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in grocery or retail stocking preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work nights and flexible hours
- Valid Washington State Food Workers Card
- Successful background and reference checks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience working in a grocery department or related retail environment
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP/Department of Health guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a team setting
- Understanding of food ingredients, applications, and culinary pronunciations
- Exceptional customer service skills
Job Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service and communicate product information to increase sales and meet revenue goals
- Efficiently stock shelves with products, face merchandise, and perform shelf maintenance
- Promptly discard any products not meeting HACCP and Department of Health standards or Metropolitan Market quality expectations
- Maintain high-quality standards in product management and presentation, supporting and executing merchandising and displays
- Accurately and efficiently perform checking duties including cash handling
- Deter internal and external loss, participate in physical inventories, and practice inventory control
- Perform light housekeeping duties within the store
