Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • Ability to work overnight shift from 11 pm to 7 am
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and front desk computer systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to handle financial data accurately
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Capacity to maintain composure under pressure
  • Physical ability to stand and walk up to 50% of the shift and lift up to 45 lbs
  • Willingness to follow all security and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot guest issues and respond to emergencies
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and basic arithmetic
  • Ability to work in a self-managed environment
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Athena Hospitality standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing the proper uniform and name tag
  • Run all reports as required for Food and Beverage audit
  • Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily
  • Balance the day's work including movie revenue, telephone postings, valet, laundry, servers and desk agent's paperwork
  • Maintain cashiering responsibilities as per Front Office procedures
  • Fulfill all Front Office functions between 11 pm and 7 am
  • Follow up to ensure periodic checks by the Midnight House Attendant of building and guest corridors
  • Handle and follow through on all guest requests during the overnight shift
  • Maintain proper record keeping according to Athena Hospitality standards
  • Complete initial direct bills daily and place on the Property Accountant's desk with all folio/banquet check back-up
  • Have a working knowledge of security procedures
  • Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed
  • Transfer master or house accounts as necessary
  • Distribute work as directed by SOPs
  • Train new Night Auditors as requested
  • Assign delivery of newspapers and Express Check-Outs
  • Ensure nightly walk-through includes removal of room service trays and straightening of pool and Jacuzzi areas
  • Complete miscellaneous duties such as resetting Food and Beverage P.O.S. and preparing daily revenue summary
  • Perform duties assigned by Guest Services Manager or management
  • Maintain proper telephone switchboard operation and meet performance standards
  • Assist in emergency procedures as required
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs courteously and efficiently
  • Operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of property amenities, events and local attractions
  • Support coworkers and maintain overall cleanliness and safety
  • Be familiar with breakfast operation and assist when needed
