The Night Auditor position is a critical role within the hospitality industry, specifically within hotel operations. This role is primarily responsible for managing and overseeing the front desk operations during the overnight shift. The Night Auditor ensures that the hotel's financial records are accurate and up-to-date by auditing daily transactions, reconciling payments, room charges, taxes, and various service charges. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work overnight shifts including weekends and holidays

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous hotel front desk or guest services experience preferred
  • Proficiency with property management systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Review and reconcile daily transactions including guest charges payments and adjustments
  • Ensure accurate posting of charges to guest accounts including room charges taxes and additional services
  • Verify and balance cash drawer and prepare daily financial reports including revenue and occupancy statistics
  • Process and complete the night audit in the property management system ensuring accuracy and documentation
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in guest accounts or financial records
  • Greet guests during the night shift providing professional check-in and check-out services
  • Handle late check-ins and check-outs and provide accurate folios at check-out
  • Respond to guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Handle phone calls and walk-in guests providing assistance
  • Monitor hotel security system and perform regular safety walk-throughs
  • Follow emergency procedures for fire medical emergencies or disturbances
  • Prepare and distribute management reports including revenue and incident reports
  • Maintain accurate guest records and document special requests
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks and lobby maintenance
  • Participate in training and development of night staff as needed
