Job Duties
- Resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
- anticipate guests needs respond promptly and acknowledge all guests however busy and whatever time of day
- maintain positive guest relations at all times
- maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features services hours of operation all room rates special packages and promotions daily house count and expected arrivals departures scheduled daily group activities
- perform check in and check out of guests receive payments and allow for proper discounts when applicable
- answer hotel switchboard and forward calls appropriately
- serve as information agent for hotel guests and handle problems and requests as they arise
- make reservations and ensure all booking rate and cancellation policies are accurately quoted to guest
- audit all accounts to ensure they are in balance including city ledger reservation deposits credit card accounts and room restaurant charges
- post room tax revenues and no shows prepare final report of all accounts
- count bank at beginning and end of shift to ensure bank is accurately accounted for
- make regular deposits in accordance with hotels deposit procedure
- serve as manager on duty during shift
- obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
- keep bank secure at all times
- answer department telephone within 3 rings using correct greeting and telephone etiquette
- process all guest check ins
- verify registration card information with guest
- obtain backup information for guest credit payment method and input into system collect cash when designated
- direct Bell Person to escort guest and transport luggage to room
- handle overbooked or walked in guests
- accept and record wake-up call requests
- monitor send and distribute guest faxes
- communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments personnel including special requests amenity delivery
- resolve discrepancies on room status report with Housekeeping
- match bucket check to in house guest ledger report report discrepancies to Manager
- process adjustment vouchers paid outs correction vouchers miscellaneous charges
