Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous hotel experience preferred
- background from extended stay industry preferred
- ability to read and write
- fluent English communication skills
- professional verbal and written skills
- basic math skills
- problem solving and organizational abilities
- experience with Microsoft Office and Opera preferred
- valid driver’s license
- physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move around frequently
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- standing for extended periods
- ability to handle objects and equipment
- willingness to obtain ServSafe certification
- possible requirement for TIPS certification
- availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of previous hotel experience preferred
- background in the extended stay industry preferred
- proficiency in reading and writing for record keeping and guest communication
- fluency in English
- professional verbal and written communication skills
- basic math skills including percentages and variances
- problem solving and organizational skills
- experience with Microsoft Office and Opera system preferred
- valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all guest interactions
- balance and audit room, food and beverage, and telephone revenues for accuracy
- assist in preparing reports related to daily revenues
- balance and audit room tax charges, cashier reports, and guest accounts
- complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports
- prepare daily, weekly, and month-end reporting packs for the General Manager
- assist in setting up complimentary breakfast service including food and beverage stations
- assist with washing, drying, and folding hotel laundry
- act as security point of contact during shift
- communicate with Operations Manager to resolve accounting discrepancies and share information
- register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and programs
- process all cash and credit card transactions accurately
- book guest reservations and process cancellations and updates
- up-sell rooms to maximize revenue
- follow seasonal reservation strategy
- promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other shifts and departments
- ensure compliance with all local laws for alcohol sales
- fulfill guest special requests
- issue and control guest safe-deposit boxes
- comply with federal, state, and local health, safety, and alcohol service laws
- perform additional duties as assigned
