Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in hotel front desk or night audit preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency in using hotel management software and PBX systems
- excellent cash handling and mathematical skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- availability to work weekend nights including Saturday and Sunday
Job Duties
- maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times while providing personalized service to hotel guests
- communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
- greet arriving guests and complete established check-in procedures daily to ensure guest satisfaction
- facilitate guest departures by following established procedures to close accounts and determine future room availability
- regularly calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using proper cash handling methods to present accurate hotel charges upon check-out
- courteously answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and over the phone using PHC’s reservation guidelines
- accurately and professionally communicate hotel rates and information utilizing suggestive selling techniques
- maintain good guest relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns timely and knowledgeably
- operate the PBX equipment to manage incoming and outgoing calls, set wake-up calls and communicate effectively with guests
- control and balance cash and credit transactions at the front desk, maintaining complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel policy
