Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- ability to stand for up to four hours
- ability to lift up to 45 lbs
- ability to push and pull carts up to 250 lbs
- ability to perform repetitive motions including bending stooping squatting and stretching
- good vision and hearing acuity
- ability to operate office equipment including computers printers adding machines phones fax machines photocopiers and dollies
- strong communication skills
- must maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance
- regular attendance and punctuality required
- willingness to work varying schedules to meet hotel business needs
- comply with all company safety and security policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in hospitality preferred
- experience in front desk or customer service preferred
- accounting experience preferred
- good communication skills verbal writing and electronic
- strong leadership capability and customer relations skills
- detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
- basic computer skills including Windows OS MS Office PMS PBX key system and POS
- computational ability
- ability to handle conflict with patience tact and diplomacy
- self-driven able to work independently
- excellent issue resolution and analytical skills
- able to speak read write and understand the primary language used in the workplace
Job Duties
- Act as the manager on duty during night-time hours
- greet and welcome guests upon arrival
- perform guest registration and check out procedures
- accept payment for guests accounts at registration and checkout
- maintain a house bank and make daily deposits and accurate reports of receipts
- cash checks and exchange currency for guests
- accurately handle cash transactions and balance a cash drawer
- acknowledge rewards members and returning guests
- take and manage guest bookings and upselling opportunities
- handle cash and credit transactions
- address guest inquiries and requests courteously and professionally
- perform all audit procedures daily according to hotel standards
- complete daily reports including financial, food and beverage, rooms, and pace reports
- balance all cash receipts and make deposits
- prepare the front office for the morning shift and reset day’s business
- maintain nightly reports on overnight activities and incidents
- operate PBX system during audit shift
- transmit and receive messages via telephone, fax, and switchboard
- ensure wake up calls are made timely using guest names
- assist and direct hotel guests and emergency personnel in emergencies
- post charges for room, food, liquor, or telephone
- make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations
- review arrival reports and ensure special requests and VIPs are handled correctly
- attend scheduled training and meetings
- maintain awareness of promotions, VIP arrivals, group conferences, special requests, and shuttles
- practice safe work habits and ensure safety compliance
- uphold privacy, security protocols, and company procedures
- answer inquiries about hotel policies, services, and local attractions
- maintain extensive knowledge of hotel services and city attractions
- maintain lobby cleanliness and organization
- assist in booking reservations
- handle mail, packages, facsimiles, and guest items
- perform other duties as assigned by management
