Job Requirements
- Four years of experience including three years general experience and one year specialized experience
- or substitution of education for experience with one year academic study equivalent to nine months experience
- ability to file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450)
- capability to work in a professional DoD lodging environment
- ability to delegate authority and supervise staff
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- willingness to work during emergencies and inclement weather
- thorough knowledge of operational practices and procedures
- commitment to guest service and satisfaction
- adherence to safety and security protocols
Job Qualifications
- Three years of experience in administrative, technical or responsible work with operational knowledge
- skill in person-to-person work relationships
- ability to exercise mature judgment
- one year of responsible experience in hotel, motel, institutional management or related service industry management
- knowledge of procurement, operational efficiency, sanitation, internal financial controls, budgeting, staffing, room design or related areas
- familiarity with Property Management System, financial systems and inventory management software
- management and supervisory experience
- strong customer service orientation
- effective communication skills
- knowledge of safety, fire and sanitation regulations
- understanding of EEO policies
- experience in federal government retail management is a plus
Job Duties
- Assist the GM in operating a professional DoD lodging operation
- perform supervisory duties and provide oversight and adequate staffing
- delegate authority and assign responsibility to department heads and supervisors
- assume GM duties in the GM's absence
- utilize property management and financial systems to manage operations
- process reservations through local and central reservation systems
- maintain contact with guests to ensure satisfaction
- conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and appearance
- develop local instructions for housekeeping and maintenance
- maintain liaison with vendors and suppliers
- participate in Manager on Duty program
- coordinate preventative maintenance with maintenance personnel
- coordinate service requirements with the Contracting department
- ensure completion of compliance training by all associates
- ensure compliance with safety, fire, and sanitation regulations
- ensure security measures and guest privacy are maintained
- carry out EEO policies and communicate support to subordinates
- maintain operations during inclement weather or emergencies as needed
- perform other related duties as assigned
