Job Requirements

- must obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months if applicable

Job Duties
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, waxers, and polishers
- empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes, and polishes room furniture
- washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls, lavatories
- washes and replaces window treatments, cleans ceiling fixtures
- changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves furniture to clean under and behind
- uses step stool to clean windows and window treatments, cabinet tops, mirrors and picture frames
- cleans bathroom areas including tub, tile walls, commode, floors and vanity
- cleans kitchen areas including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets and floors
- washes and disinfects dishes, utensils and cookware
- cleans iron and ironing board and replaces cover as necessary
- cleans and ensures the proper functionality of luggage racks and ensures proper number of male and female hangers in closets
- ensures TVs are clean and programmed properly, alarm clocks programmed with backup battery, in-room phones clean, programmed and functioning
- places proper number of amenities in room including consumables and non-consumables
- removes and replaces bed linen, inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
- moves and repositions beds upon guest checkout or guest request
- greets and welcomes guests while maintaining outstanding guest relations
- ensures privacy and security of guests at all times
- cleans, vacuums and mops corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios and balconies
- shampoos rugs and carpets, polishes rails of stairways
- completes scheduled carpet cleaning using heavy industrial equipment
- performs deep cleaning on a scheduled basis and upon checkout of guests in pet-friendly rooms and rooms with ADA service animals
- maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
- communicates status of cleaned rooms and spaces to supervisors
- accomplishes minor repairs and maintenance of cleaning equipment
- cleans and inspects exterior spaces like parking lots and outside passageways
- assists with loading and unloading trucks, receipt of supplies, assembly, separation, storage and delivery of merchandise
- responsible for pass keys and other keys, returns keys at shift end
- reports unusual circumstances to supervisor immediately
- reports lost and found items promptly
- may be responsible for setup and breakdown of self-service breakfast bar, assists in preparing and replenishing breakfast items, ensures cleanliness after breakfast hours
- completes all required safety and security training
- maintains clean and safe environment, applies knowledge of blood-borne pathogen safety
- performs laundry operations at the facility
- may be required to possess valid driver’s license for travel
- may be required to obtain NHG housekeeping and other certifications within 6 months
- performs other related duties as assigned
