Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • no previous experience required
  • ability to perform moderate physical effort including moving furniture and using lightweight powered equipment
  • willingness to obtain housekeeping certification within 6 months
  • ability to follow safety and security protocols
  • valid state driver’s license may be required for travel
  • availability for part-time hours ranging from 20 to 34.5 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • ability to operate both hand and powered cleaning equipment
  • knowledge of safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
  • operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner carpet cleaner waxer and polisher
  • empties wastebaskets dusts waxes and polishes room furniture
  • washes walls partitions air vents disinfects and deodorizes bathroom fixtures
  • washes and replaces window treatments and cleans ceiling fixtures
  • changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
  • moves furniture to clean under and behind
  • cleans bathroom and kitchen areas including appliances and surfaces
  • washes and disinfects dishes utensils and cookware
  • cleans ironing equipment and ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and hangers
  • ensures TVs phones and alarm clocks are clean and properly programmed
  • places proper number of amenities in rooms including consumables and non-consumables
  • removes and replaces bed linen inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
  • greets and welcomes guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
  • ensures privacy and security of guests
  • cleans and maintains corridors stairways guest laundry patios and balconies
  • performs scheduled deep cleaning and carpet shampooing
  • maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
  • communicates status of rooms and spaces to supervisor
  • accomplishes minor repairs and reports major repair needs
  • cleans and inspects exterior spaces
  • assists with loading unloading and receipt of supplies
  • is responsible for pass key and other assigned keys
  • reports unusual circumstances and lost and found items
  • supports setup and breakdown of breakfast bar and handles food safety
  • completes all required safety and security training
  • maintains clean and safe environment following safety protocols
  • performs laundry operations
  • may travel to other lodging facilities
  • may obtain housekeeping certification within 6 months
