Job Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • RN license
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Availability for full-time schedule of 36 or 72 hours per week
  • Commitment to work within union guidelines
  • Willingness to participate in a 4-6 month novice nurse program

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid RN license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) preferred
  • Knowledge of ANA standards of psychiatric and mental health nursing
  • Ability to coordinate emergency care effectively
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to ethical nursing practice

Job Duties

  • Provide direct patient care according to ANA standards of psychiatric and mental health nursing
  • Participate in treatment planning and coordinate management of medical and nursing care
  • Assist in discharge planning for patients
  • Coordinate psychiatric and medical emergencies ensuring proper care and patient safety
  • Participate as an active team member assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and the RI Nurse Practice Act
  • Support and mentor new nurses as part of professional development
