Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • current BLS certification
  • current CNA license if required by state or department
  • completion of unit-approved ECG or EEG training with passing score
  • 1 year of medical clerical experience or prior customer service experience
  • working knowledge of medical terminology
  • computer literacy
  • excellent organizational and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge, current BLS certification, current CNA license if required by state or department, completion of unit-approved ECG or EEG course or on the job training with a minimum score of 85, skills attained through 1 year of medical clerical experience or prior customer service experience, excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills, working knowledge of medical terminology, computer literacy and keyboarding skills, recent healthcare experience preferred, successful completion of an approved unit secretary program preferred, additional related education or experience preferred

Job Duties

  • provide assistance in activities of daily living and complete necessary tasks to promote patient health, collect patient specimens and data including vital signs and input/output, document objective data and routine aspects of patient care, recognize and report abnormalities and changes in patient health to licensed professionals, perform procedures such as blood draws and EKGs as delegated, perform receptionist and clerical duties to support department efficiency, maintain complete and accurate patient records and assist with ordering patient specimens
