Job Requirements

  • Valid drivers license or ability to obtain one
  • CPR/AED certified
  • ability to deal effectively with the public
  • ability to administrate, coordinate programs, and communicate effectively
  • ability to supervise and coordinate work activities of personnel
  • physical ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • availability to work evenings and weekends
  • schedule flexibility to work 15-20 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • associate degree is preferred
  • working knowledge of City or County Government a plus
  • experience in a classroom setting or work with children is preferred
  • knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • working knowledge of programming activities related to diverse groups
  • ability to think creatively by developing, designing, or creating appropriate programming

Job Duties

  • Assist with all administrative duties on programs and events
  • assist with program planning, staffing, set up, and executing day of activities and programs
  • assist with developing and coordinating a diverse range of recreational programs and activities including movies in the park, fitness classes, music programs
  • collect surveys, reviews, and data from past programming to evaluate future needs
  • supervise and support youth and teens attending programs
  • receive, track and compile multiple reports relating to the department's accreditations
  • assist with community outreach for programs
  • assist with creating graphics and advertisements for programming in the park
  • plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, or events
  • oversee utilization of marketing software for online program and event registration
  • report any accidents, incidents or concerns to supervisor
  • help with marketing of divisional activities, programs, and events
