Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience as a cook
- Current Pierce County Food Handlers Card
- Ability to respond quickly to program changes
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Requires the full manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and alertness to use mechanical equipment
- Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance
- Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy
- Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services
- Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork
- Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations

- Professional cooking experience preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of all meals
- Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of volunteers engaged in food preparation, cooking and serving
- Enforces and follows the "Clean as you go" policy
- Responsible for inventory control, meal counts, and other information as requested by the Operations Assistant
- Cleans all kitchen equipment and recommends repair and service needs to the Operations Assistant
- Works with the kitchen team to effectively manage guest's behavior and create a safe and welcoming environment
- Participates in training and staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
