Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience
  • Experience in large group event sales
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven sales and presentation experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel locally and interstate
  • Understanding of hotel operations
  • Capable of multitasking and working in fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience or equivalent
  • Experience selling and servicing large group events
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  • Knowledge of hotel industry operations
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, and creative professional who thrives under pressure
  • Strong command of English both written and verbal with warmth and empathy
  • Proven selling, negotiating, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of advanced sales techniques
  • Highly developed customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Delphi experience preferred
  • Ability to delegate, train, and coach effectively
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Plan and maintain regular communications with and actively solicit additional business from Hotel key accounts
  • Communicate and meet with parties interested in the Hotel's services to assess needs and profitability
  • Prepare guest proposals with options for hotel services consistent with guest satisfaction and profitability standards
  • Negotiate, prepare, and review terms of contracts for Hotel services in compliance with guidelines
  • Meet or exceed targets for prospecting sales opportunities and revenue streams
  • Execute and manage processes necessary to reserve and confirm negotiated contract services including blocking rooms and meeting space
  • Promote hotel visibility through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows
  • Provide mentorship and professional development to less experienced sales employees
  • Support and promote corporate programs to increase customer awareness and benefits
  • Maintain high-quality guest offerings and contribute to the protection and cleanliness of physical assets
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance at work and for assignments
  • Interact positively and professionally with guests, key accounts, coworkers, and visitors
  • Use computer and electronic devices effectively for communication and reporting
  • Plan, prioritize, and implement sales strategies and plans to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects timely as directed
  • Support maintenance of a safe working environment complying with safety standards and legal requirements
  • Comply with hotel and corporate policies and regulatory requirements
  • Attend and contribute to regular sales and leadership meetings
  • Perform extensive phone and email communications and work at a desk for extended periods
  • Travel locally and interstate for client meetings, trade shows, and team travel as necessary
  • Work weekday business hours with possible evenings or weekends for guest relations
  • Perform occasional physical tasks supporting events and property tours
  • Complete additional marketing or guest service assignments as directed
