Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of program coordination or related experience including essay reviewing and feedback
  • Experience working directly with students in higher-education or student support setting
  • Experience coordinating outreach efforts including social media
  • Experience organizing outreach events and managing logistics
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Must work in person in a student-facing office

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of experience in program or event coordination including reviewing academic or professional essays and providing feedback
  • Experience working with students in higher education or student support roles including outreach and managing program logistics
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in higher education program administration preferred
  • Experience working with high-achieving and underserved students including veterans preferred
  • Experience in academic advising, writing instruction, fellowship advising, student success or scholarship programs preferred
  • Familiarity with competitive national or international fellowships preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and exercise initiative in a dynamic environment
  • Experience managing selection processes and coordinating committees preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
  • Familiarity with structure, purpose, and expectations of competitive national fellowships preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, initiative, and self-directed learning skills
  • Skill in coaching students to improve essays, resumes, and applications
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Ability to organize, plan, solve problems, and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in student-facing, in-person environment
  • Experience designing social media content, flyers, and handouts

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all aspects of the National Fellowships Program including outreach, recruitment, and selection
  • Coordinate campus nomination processes for major and internal awards
  • Support program assessment, evaluation, and maintain program databases
  • Coordinate logistics and travel for seminars, workshops, orientations, and events
  • Purchase program materials and prepare reports for students, faculty, and leadership
  • Serve as first point of contact for program information and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain regular office hours to advise students on fellowship opportunities, application strategies, and essay development
