Job Requirements

Minimum education level varies by internship program
Interns responsible for own housing and transportation
Willingness to work a variety of shifts including weekends and nights
Ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand or sit for entire shifts
Ability to work in confined, crowded spaces
Applicants must meet program deadlines for application
Chicago-based interns must attend Windy City Smokeout festival workdays
Level 2 internship by invitation only

Job Qualifications

At least one year of hospitality experience for Level 1 internships
Customer service experience considered for Level 1
Completion of Level 1 Lettuce Internship for Level 2 applicants
Minimum of four years working in the restaurant industry for Level 2
Minimum of two years serving experience for Level 2
Ability to multitask calmly in a busy environment
Effective communication skills

Job Duties

Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests' needs
Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile
Use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy
Proficiently use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
Get along well with others and be a team player
