Job Requirements
- Minimum education level varies by internship program
- Interns responsible for own housing and transportation
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts including weekends and nights
- Ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or sit for entire shifts
- Ability to work in confined, crowded spaces
- Applicants must meet program deadlines for application
- Chicago-based interns must attend Windy City Smokeout festival workdays
- Level 2 internship by invitation only
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of hospitality experience for Level 1 internships
- Customer service experience considered for Level 1
- Completion of Level 1 Lettuce Internship for Level 2 applicants
- Minimum of four years working in the restaurant industry for Level 2
- Minimum of two years serving experience for Level 2
- Ability to multitask calmly in a busy environment
- Effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests' needs
- Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile
- Use tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy
- Proficiently use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Get along well with others and be a team player
