Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a 1055 Slot/Cardroom/Pari-Mutuel Individual Combo slot license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least three years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must have close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Ability to taste and smell food to ensure quality
  • Must pass background checks and provide three years of tax returns
  • Must adhere to confidentiality and company policies
  • Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with varied temperatures, noise and wet areas

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred accreditation from a culinary institute
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in a high volume kitchen
  • Ability to obtain Food Safety Manager Certification
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and quality standards
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods such as roasting, frying, sautéing, and grilling
  • Understanding of business and management principles including strategic planning and resource allocation
  • Strong leadership and human resources skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Ability to adjust actions based on team needs

Job Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other culinary workers
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine
  • Promote Family Style Service through positive actions and attitude
  • Deal with high-volume customer interactions while maintaining an outgoing and cheerful demeanor
  • Build guest relations by engaging with customers and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
  • Establish production forecasts and communicate them to staff
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and nutrition standards
  • Verify portion sizes and quality standards
  • Assign work and monitor completion to meet budgetary needs
  • Oversee staff attendance including start times, breaks, and end times
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting, training, and developing kitchen staff
  • Review kitchen activities with Chef de Cuisine
  • Assist in menu and recipe development
  • Issue disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Prepare and maintain reports, employee files, and attendance records
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding financial and personnel data
  • Stay informed on casino events and assist as needed
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Adhere to regulatory and company policies ethically
  • Handle routine customer complaints and seek resolution to maintain positive guest relationships
  • Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and variable locations
  • Maintain cleanliness by disposing of debris left by guests
  • Perform additional assigned duties as requested by management
  • Enforce operating principles including cleanliness, safety, friendly service, and fun interaction
  • Utilize a variety of computer and kitchen tools and technology
  • Obtain and maintain required slot licenses and meet age and documentation requirements
